DOC Transport ("DOC Transport", "we", "us", or "our") operates the DOC Transport mobile application and website (together, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information. Name, phone number, email address, profile photo, and password when you create an account.
- Location data. Precise GPS location while the app is in use, to find nearby drivers, calculate routes and fares, and track trips. Drivers may share location in the background while online.
- Trip information. Pickup and drop-off points, trip times, distance, fare, payment method, and ratings.
- Payment information. Card details are processed by our payment partners. We store only a token and the last four digits.
- Driver information. Driving licence, vehicle registration, insurance, identity documents, and background-check results, where required by law.
- Device and usage data. Device model, operating system, app version, IP address, crash logs, and how you interact with the app.
- Communications. Messages and calls between riders and drivers routed through the app, and messages you send to our support team.
2. How we use your information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service, including matching riders with drivers and calculating fares.
- To process payments and send receipts.
- To verify identity, prevent fraud, and keep riders and drivers safe.
- To send service messages such as trip updates, receipts, and security alerts.
- To provide customer support and respond to your requests.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
- With your consent, to send promotional messages. You can opt out at any time.
3. How we share information
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only in the following cases:
- Between riders and drivers. Riders see the driver's name, photo, vehicle, plate number, and rating. Drivers see the rider's first name, rating, pickup and drop-off points.
- Service providers. Payment processors, cloud hosting, mapping, SMS, and analytics providers who process data on our behalf under contract.
- Legal reasons. When required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of DOC Transport, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Privacy Policy.
4. Data retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. Trip and payment records are retained for as long as needed to resolve disputes, meet tax and legal obligations, and prevent fraud. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
5. Your rights and choices
- Access and correction. You can view and edit your profile in the app.
- Deletion. You can request deletion of your account from the app settings or by contacting us. Some records may be retained where the law requires.
- Location permissions. You can disable location access in your device settings, but the Service will not function without it.
- Marketing. You can opt out of promotional messages through the app or the unsubscribe link in any email.
6. Security
We use technical and organisational measures such as encryption in transit, access controls, and regular reviews to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children
The Service is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us and we will delete it.
8. International transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. Where this happens we take steps to ensure it receives a level of protection consistent with this Privacy Policy.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email, and update the date at the top of this page.
