Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the DOC Transport mobile application, website, and related services (together, the "Service") provided by DOC Transport ("DOC Transport", "we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

DOC Transport is a technology platform that connects riders who need transportation with independent drivers who provide it. DOC Transport does not itself provide transportation services. Drivers are independent contractors, not employees or agents of DOC Transport, unless expressly stated otherwise in a separate agreement.

2. Eligibility and accounts

• You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
• You must provide accurate, complete, and current information and keep it up to date.
• You are responsible for all activity on your account and for keeping your login details confidential.
• Drivers must hold a valid driving licence, vehicle registration, and insurance, and must pass our verification process before accepting trips.

3. Booking and cancelling rides

• When you request a ride, we show an estimated or fixed fare before you confirm. The final fare may vary if the route, waiting time, or destination changes.
• You may cancel a ride in the app. A cancellation fee may apply if you cancel after a driver has been assigned and has started travelling to you, or if you do not show up at the pickup point.
• Drivers may cancel a trip if the rider cannot be reached, is not at the pickup point, or if the trip would be unsafe.

4. Payments

• Fares, fees, tolls, and any applicable taxes are shown in the app and charged to your selected payment method at the end of the trip, or paid in cash where cash is offered.
• By adding a payment method you authorise us and our payment partners to charge it for amounts you owe.
• Fare disputes must be raised through the app within 7 days of the trip. We will review and, where appropriate, adjust the charge.
• Drivers receive payouts on the schedule and at the commission rate shown in the driver app, which may change with notice.

5. User conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in breach of these Terms.
• Harass, threaten, discriminate against, or harm any rider, driver, or DOC Transport staff.
• Damage a vehicle, or leave it in an unreasonable condition.
• Carry weapons, illegal substances, or hazardous materials.
• Copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the app or its security.
• Create multiple accounts, share accounts, or use another person's account.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules, and may report unlawful conduct to the authorities.

6. Safety

We verify drivers, provide in-app safety features, and offer 24/7 support. However, you remain responsible for your own safety. Riders should confirm the driver's name, vehicle, and plate number before entering a vehicle. Drivers must follow all traffic laws and never drive while impaired.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, logos, and content, is owned by DOC Transport or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for its intended purpose. You may not use our name or logos without written permission.

8. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not guarantee that a driver will be available, that trips will be on time, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, DOC Transport will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 6 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for breach of these Terms, suspected fraud, safety concerns, or as required by law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email. Continued use of the Service after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which DOC Transport is registered, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that cannot be resolved through our support team will be submitted to the competent courts of that jurisdiction.
